His Love, the Dance | A Rondeau Poem
Life has many seasons that show the ebb and flow of change, especially in our bodies. In today’s modified rondeau, I paint this image in my own life. Yet one constant that remains in a world that’s ever-changing is Yah’s love and heart for us.
His Love, The Dance
She leaves her hand extended there
Classical notes waltz in the air
Plié, arabesque, grand jeté
The twinkling stars come out to play
The autumn breeze rustles her hair.
Thicker now, yet dancing, she dares
Because the call has drawn her near
He loves her frolicking away
Yet leaves her hand extended there
So, on she twirled without a care
Memories joined from yesteryear
Movement told what lips couldn’t say
Under the moon and unafraid
A sudden stop, painfully aware
I left my hand extended there.
