Twelve Years, Still Writing: An Anniversary in Free Verse
Hey, girl, hey!
Today’s our 12th wedding anniversary. So tonight I write freely, in free verse, to the man who captured my heart.

Writing Our Story in His Image
Clickety-clack go the keys, reminiscing about
when we first met.
“You’re more than just a tweet,”
prophetically sealing our hearts
in 2010, as we were about to become the closest of friends.
Our daily Skype chats or Yahoo Messenger conversations
fueled both our faith and our destinies.
Even after meeting me, you began pursuing photography,
Not knowing where we were going, except to remain.
Finally, one day we met face to face,
the catalyst that brought us to this very place.
The next month we were courting, in five months engaged.
Just three months later we got married before God and man
with the joy of knowing the beauty of God’s plan.
So much more I could say but the time won’t allow,
and baby, we had our share of ups and downs.
In it all, my typing pauses as a hush fills my mind,
As I see God is writing our story, capturing and refining the details
in one frame at a time.
