A Promise Worth Keeping: A Kyrielle Poem

This reflective kyrielle poem is in memory of my parents' marriage, and even though she’s found new love, I wanted to capture a snapshot of what it was like at the beginning, after Daddy moved to heaven.

A Promise Worth Keeping

They made their vows one autumn day

Because their love had found a way

To pass the tests of time, meeting

With a promise that’s worth keeping

Years gone by with children  in tow

Wondering how these things would go

Choosing to love, work, repeating

This is a promise worth keeping

Here comes the grands, now she’s alone

Never dreamed of here on her own

He’s above, his love so freeing

Always a promise worth keeping
